Notable News from Week 4 of the Fantasy Football Season

1. Terrell Owens
Even with all of the commotion surrounding him off the field, we learned on Sunday that he can still play ball. He didn't score a touchdown but he did have a few catches and looked like he barely suffered any effects from his broken hand, overdose, or the circus surrounding his recent actions. That's pretty impressive!

2. Steve Smith
It looks like Steve Smith is back in form from last season. After missing Weeks 1 and 2 with a hamstring injury, Smith returned in Week 3 and since he has returned, he has been the most targeted receiver and has caught 17 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown.

3. Doug Gabriel
It looks like Tom Brady is starting to develop a pretty comfortable connection with Doug Gabriel as his number 1 receiver. Like Smith, Gabriel was also hampered by a hamstring injury and since coming back he has caught 11 passes for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns. These numbers are expected to still grow while Tom Brady becomes more comfortable with Gabriel.

4. Ronnie Brown
You can see the effects of offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey all over the Miami Dolphins. When Mularkey was head coach of Buffalo last year, their offense was horrendous and you can see the Dolphins going down a similar path. Owners of Ronnie Brown were expecting him to be a workhorse this year but he is just not getting the carries that he needs. He has yet to break 90 yards rushing in a game and hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 1 against Pittsburgh. He only got 12 carries in Week 4 against Houston a week after the Texans gave up over 100 yards rushing to Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts in the same game! Keep an eye on any Miami players that you have and consider any trade offers if they appear to be reasonable deals.

5. Vernand Morency
With the injury issues that Ahman Green has had in recent years and this year, his backups have seemed to fare pretty well like Samkon Gado did last fantasy football season. The new backup that may make an impact in fantasy football this year is Vernand Morency who had 26 carries for 99 yards and 6 receptions for 19 yards in the Monday night loss to Philadelphia. He seems ready to make some noise as the season continues.
