Articles::Week 9 Useful Waiver Pickups (November 1, 2006)

Here are some players that may still be available on the waiver wire that you can pickup and use to solidify your team.

1. Steve McNair, QB, Baltimore Ravens
It seems that Billick taking over the play calling duties in Baltimore will work out well for McNair. He's fully recovered from his concussion and if you need a QB, he will be a serviceable option at this point in the season.

2. Mike Bell, RB, Denver Broncos
After a few impressive weeks by Tatum Bell, Mike Bell now seems to be the main man in Denver again. Tatum has had some turf toe issues and they really seemed to surface last week and Mike really shined given the opportunity. The longer Tatum Bell is out of the lineup, the better weekly option Mike Bell becomes.

3. Brandon Jacobs, RB, New York Giants
Brandon Jacobs has really emerged on the fantasy football scene lately with Tiki Barber's retirement announcement. If you are in a keeper league, he is a must pickup since he should take over for Tiki next year and even if you aren't in a keeper league, Jacobs is a decent option if you need a serviceable running back for the week.

4. Michael Jenkins, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Since Michael Vick has taken a liking to chucking the football more often, the value of his receivers has increased. Jenkins provides a huge target for Vick and he should be a decent wide receiver to add to your roster and monitor the next few weeks.

5. Owen Daniels, TE, Houston Texans
Over the last two weeks, Daniels has 119 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. You can't expect those numbers each week but he does give David Carr a nice red zone option and he will be a decent tight end to start every week if you don't have a stud like Todd Heap or Jeremy Shockey.
