Articles::Week 8 Useful Waiver Pickups (October 25, 2006)

Here are some players that may still be available on the waiver wire that you can pickup and use to solidify your team.

1. Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys
Bledsoe's out and Romo's in for the Cowboys. Romo has great weapons in T.O. and Terry Glenn and as long as he doesn't turn over the ball too frequently, he can put up some decent stats for you simply because of his surrounding cast.

2. Wali Lundy, RB, Houston Texans
Lundy had 93 yards and a touchdown last week on only 19 carries. He has a pretty good matchup this week against the Tennessee Titans and should be able to put up similar numbers this week. He'll be a great replacement if you have bye week issues with running backs like Portis or McGahee this week.

3. Nate Washington, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Washington has emerged as the number 2 receiver in Pittsburgh opposite Hines Ward. Their offense has finally been clicking lately and even when Batch stepped in last week after Big Ben's injury, the offense still continued to play well. Pick Washington up if you are in need of a receiver this week.

4. Leon Washington, RB, New York Jets
Washington has finally emerged as the Jets starting running back. He is becoming a must start option and he should have an especially good game this week against the Browns. He can even be considered a low end keeper option in some larger keeper leagues.

5. New York Giants, DST
The Giants have been a pleasant surprise this year and have been putting up respectable points almost every week. They have a great matchup this week playing Tampa Bay and are a great option if you need a defense to step in.
