Articles::Week 7 Useful Waiver Pickups (October 19, 2006)
Here are some players that may still be available on the waiver wire that you can pickup and use to solidify your team.
1. Joey Harrington, QB, Miami Dolphins
If you are in need of a quarterback this week because you've run into bye week problems, Harrington may be worth a shot. He has a decent matchup against the Packers who have given up plenty of passing yards each week. He should be able to put up decent stats this week while Culpepper is still out.2. Najeh Davenport, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Davenport is an important player for Willie Parker owners to grab if they can. He may begin to fill a role like Jerome Bettis used to have with the Steelers and start to steal goalline carries from Willie Parker. If Parker is injured, Davenport will step in and become the starter so make sure you grab him if you have Parker.3. Eric Parker, WR, San Diego Chargers
Over the past 2 games, Parker has had over 80 yards receiving and had 12 catches. River seems to have developed a raport with him and he should continue to see his yardage total rise. Parker has great speed and should add some touchdowns to his respectable yardage numbers.4. Alex Smith, TE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Smith's numbers tend to be up and down but if your tight end is on a bye week, he can fill in nicely. Quarterback Bruce Gradkowski will need a reliable target to help him continue to get acclimated with the Tampa Bay offense and Smith should definitely be a big target for him in the next few weeks.5. Arizona Cardinals, DST
If you have bye week issues this week, the Cardinals should be able to step in and give you a decent outing. This is more of a matchup play than the Cardinals doing anything special on defense. Many of their turnovers last week were a result of Rex Grossman's poor decisions but they should still have a decent game against the Raiders.
