Articles::Week 10 Useful Waiver Pickups (November 8, 2006)

Here are some players that may still be available on the waiver wire that you can pickup and use to solidify your team.

1. Tony Romo, QB, Dallas Cowboys
It looks like the move to Romo from Bledsoe was the right one for the Cowboys. Many Bledsoe owners may have stashed away Romo earlier in the year but if he's still available, he's now a viable starting QB option. Last week he passed 284 yards and 2 touchdowns and with his supporting cast, you can expect numbers like that throughout the year along with the occasional 'rookie' mistakes that a first time starter is likely to make.

2. Anthony Thomas, RB, Buffalo Bills
Willis McGahee may be out up to four weeks and in the meantime, A-Train will be getting the majority of the carries. If the Bills have any hope of competing with the Colts this week, the will need to manage the clock by running the ball and expect Thomas to get decent stats especially with the favorable matchup against the Colts run defense.

3. David Garrard, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars seem content to let Leftwich ride the bench and give Garrard the starting nod. He had three touchdowns last week and he has a favorable matchup against the Texans this week. If you need a QB Garrard is a reasonable option for the short term and possibly the rest of the season.

4. Kevin Curtis, WR, St. Louis Rams
Over the last 2 weeks, Curtis has really began to get consistent chances to make plays and he has a touchdown in each of the last 2 games. He has great speed which always leaves the possibility for a long touchdown open. He has a great matchup this week against the Seahawks who have been giving up over 250 passing yards per game recently.

5. Devery Henderson, WR, New Orleans Saints
He's the third receiver in New Orleans and you can't expect him to have over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns like he did in week 9 but with Joe Horn running into injury issues, Henderson can be a reasonable spot start if you need a receiver for the week.
