Here are five players that we think are ready to have a great fantasy football season
1. Jake Delhomme, QB, Carolina Panthers
Coming off a big year last season, he's poised to have the best year of his career with the additions to his supporting cast. Not only does he still have a great receiver in Steve Smith but the additions of Keyshawn Johnson and DeAngelo Williams will give him even more targets to throw to this year.2. Ronnie Brown, RB, Miami Dolphins
He had a respectable rookie year last year and really showcased his skills when given the opportunity to shoulder the load. With Ricky Williams missing from the Dolphins once again, Ronnie Brown is the unquestioned starter in the Miami backfield. The addition of Daunte Culpepper should open up even more running room for Ronnie Brown since opponents will have to respect Culpepper's passing skills.3. Roy Williams, WR, Detroit Lions
Roy Williams has been slowed throughout his career by injuries but if he stays healthy this year, he can have a huge season. He finished last year strong after coming back from injury and he should carry this into this season. The addition of offensive coordinator Mike Martz should make Williams the focal point of the Lions offense this season. Although new quarterback John Kitna is not a traditional gun-slinger, he is more than able to get the ball in Roy Williams' hands and will most often look his way when the Lions need a big catch.4. Todd Heap, TE, Baltimore Ravens
Even though Todd Heap has been one of the best fantasy football tight ends the last three seasons, he should have his best season this year. Without a steady quarterback, he was still able to put up great stats year after year but the addition of quarterback Steve McNair will do wonders for Todd Heap's numbers. McNair has been known to rely on tight ends in his career and if he does so in Baltimore this year, the sure-handed Heap should set career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.5. Matt Jones, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
The converted quarterback showed flashes of brilliance last season with his amazing size, speed, and hands. This year he should be playing an even larger role in the Jacksonville offense. He has had a full year of working as a wide receiver and the retirement of Jimmy Smith and the season ending injury to Greg Jones should create even more opportunities for Jones to get his hands on the football.
